Through the Policy Research and Analysis thrust, FANRPAN seeks to contribute to the attainment of regional and continental agriculture frameworks by conducting and coordinating research in priority policy areas as defined by the regional economic and continental bodies. Research evidence will provide a basis for policy harmonisation or improvement in the FANR sector. In support of its mandate, FANRPAN’s focus in the 2016 to 2023 Strategic Plan is on two key areas, namely, Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) and Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture (CSA). NSA is focused on generating evidence to support agricultural transformation to ensure that it delivers positive nutrition outcomes. CSA seeks to generate evidence that supports policies and the building of agriculture’s resilience to climate change.
