Programming
FANRPAN’s programming is guided by the 2025–2035 Strategic Plan, positioning the network as a continental hub for evidence-based policies that drive resilient, inclusive and climate-smart agrifood systems. Through four strategic pillars—policy research and analysis; knowledge management and advocacy; capacity strengthening; and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning—we generate, translate and apply robust evidence in partnership with governments, regional bodies, farmer organisations, civil society and the private sector. Our work is organised around eight interconnected thematic areas, including climate change resilience, nutrition and sustainable livelihoods, sustainable natural resources and environment, trade and markets, responsible agricultural investment, technology and innovation, with gender, equity and social inclusion embedded throughout. Across all programmes, FANRPAN convenes multi-stakeholder dialogues, supports the domestication and implementation of continental commitments, and ensures that policies are grounded in African realities and deliver measurable benefits for farmers, communities and ecosystems.
