The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) participated in the 5th Meeting of the SADC Thematic Group on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR) held on 8 November 2025, contributing to high-level discussions on strengthening regional resilience, enhancing policy coordination, and improving evidence-informed decision-making across the Southern African region.
The meeting brought together representatives from SADC Member States, regional institutions, research organisations, and development partners to review progress and identify priority actions for addressing the escalating climate-related vulnerabilities affecting agriculture, food systems, and livelihoods across the region.
During the session, FANRPAN presented highlights of its ongoing policy research, regional engagements, and multi-stakeholder initiatives that contribute directly to strengthening climate resilience across SADC Member States.
FANRPAN’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the SADC FANR Secretariat and Member States to advance evidence-driven, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems.
As climate impacts intensify across Southern Africa, FANRPAN remains dedicated to supporting regional frameworks, empowering communities, and ensuring that policy decisions are rooted in strong evidence and inclusive participation.
