COMESA-EAC-SADC Climate Change Tripartite Programme

Climate Smart Agriculture Champions

The COMESA-SADC-EAC Tripartite programme seeks to ensure that CSA approaches and interventions have a positive impact on the livelihoods of smallholder farming families in Africa.

FANRPAN therefore, engages policy advocacy champions in order to bring about changes in public policy making process around issues of climate change, food security and nutrition. FANRAPN takes a nuanced approach to identifying, training and equipping a diverse range of policy champions to advance key evidence based policy messages at different platforms and fora in order to influence decision making processes around climate change adaptation and mitigation. By engaging different levels of policy champions, FANRPAN is able to reach a broad spectrum of decision makers and stakeholders with relevant and timely evidence.

The role of the CSA champions is to raise awareness on CSA approaches and evidence across the food, agriculture and natural resources sector. With a moral commitment to continuous improvement of rural livelihoods and food security, the CSA Champions work closely with the FANRPAN secretariat staff to implement proactive interventions and knowledge sharing activities in the context of CSA.
