Meet Gift Mafuleka the Founder of Mphiwe Siyalima

Mphiwe Siyalima Enterprises cc was founded in 2009 by a young entrepreneur, Mr Siphiwo Gift Mafuleka , Gift holds a B-Tech Degree in Crop Production from Tshwane University of Technology, he also hold a Management Development Program, a 1 year certificate from UNISA School of Business Leadership and he was formerly employed by McCain Foods SA as a Crop Manager. He is now studying towards his Master’s in Business Leadership qualification at UNISA SBL. Gift started the business with an aim to acquire agricultural land for farm production, practice primary agriculture at a commercial level as well as to attract investments towards, therefore building legacy by create an economically sustainable corporate farming business with cutting edge competitiveness within primary agriculture. He named his business ‘’Mphiwe Siyalima Enterprises’’ which means ‘’given, we are farming.” Mphiwe Siyalima Enterprises cc is based in the City of Tshwane, Bronkhorstspruit, South Africa.

Achievements

Best Agribusiness and Young Farmer of the Year in Gauteng: Overall winner in 2013: Mphiwe Siyalima and Gift Mafuleka became the overall winners during the Agribusiness and Young Farmer of the Year Awards and they were rewarded with R100 000.00 prize money. These awards were organised by Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in June 2013.

Best Agribusiness and Young Farmer of the Year: Formal Markets in 2013: Mphiwe Siyalima and Gift Mafuleka won this award during the Agribusiness and Young Farmer of the Year Awards and was presented with a prize money of R50 000.00. These awards were organised by Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in June 2013.

New Entrant to Commercial Farming in 2012: Gift Mafuleka won in the Gauteng province and represented the province in the National event. These awards were organised and hosted by Agricultural Writers Association of South Africa.

Toyota New Harvest of the Year Winner in 2011: Gift Mafuleka was awarded by TOYOTA SOUTH AFRICA with a Trophy and a Toyota Hilux 3.0 Xstra Cab as the main price.

Proud member of Grain SA 250 Ton Club: Received recognition for producing more than 250 tons of Grain produce in our first year of production, 2011 and presented with a Silver Membership Status as well. Receive a Gold Membership Status for producing more than 500 tons of grain produce in 2012. Received a Platinum Membership Status for producing more than 1000 tons of grain produce in 2013.

Publicity: Gift Mafuleka on behalf of Mphiwe Siyalima Enterprises has managed attract initial investors in the form of corporate partners, government programs; this was achieved through development of bankable business plan, good business presentations as well as magazine articles and TV interviews.

Mphiwe Tuli Stud

Mphiwe Tuli Stud was established in 2012 by Gift Mafuleka. The Stud is registered with the Tuli Cattle Breeders’ Society of South Africa

Tuli breed has been chosen by Mphiwe Siyalima, firstly, because of the love of the breed as well as the fact that it has good fertility, very high milk production to feed calves, outstanding ability to adapt in a variety of conditions even harsh condition, superior medium-frame conformation and many more characteristics that complement our beef breeding objectives.

Mphiwe Siyalima breeding objectives:

  • To establish, maintain and own a high quality and profitable Tuli herd.
  • To collect, improve and preserve a variety of Tuli cattle breed genetics from all over South Africa.
  • To contribute in increasing good Tuli breeding animals within the breed society.
  • To offer affordable high quality animals to new entrants to beef production.
