FANRPAN Recruitment for two Director Positions as follows:

The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) is a regional multi-stakeholder network that was established in response to a call by African Ministries of Agriculture for independent research evidence to inform agriculture and food security policy harmonization at regional level.

The FANRPAN Regional Secretariat based in Pretoria, South Africa seeks to appoint two suitable, qualified and highly motivated individuals for the following positions:

  1. Director: Communications and Advocacy
  2. Director: Policy and Research

These positions are still vacant and applications will be accepted until further notice.

FANRPAN has five programme areas in which it undertakes comprehensive policy development programmes to yield effective policies. These are:

  1. Food Systems: Ensuring appropriate policies for enhanced food production, quality, safety, processing, packaging and distribution of food.
  2. Agricultural Productivity: Improving agricultural production and productivity at household level through increased uptake of appropriate technologies, promoting input and output markets and intra-regional trade.
  3. Natural Resources and Environment: Developing policies for managing trans-boundary water resources, addressing the effects of climate change and coordinating the development of biofuels policies Africa-wide.
  4. Social Protection and Livelihoods: Designing policies and interventions to mitigate against poverty, malnutrition, vulnerability to climate change, HIV and AIDS.
  5. Institutional Strengthening: strengthening platforms for civil society and state engagement in policy development processes.

In each of the five thematic areas, FANRPAN has ongoing research projects.
