Dr. Lindiwe Majele Sibanda, CEO at FANRPAN, was invited to give remarks on best practice to commercialize goat production In Swaziland. She shared the stage with Hon. Clement Dlamini (Minister of Agriculture), Dr. Sibanze Hlohlo (Regional Administrator), Mr. Thaba Masuku (Deputy Prime Minister); and most importantly Her Majesty Indovukazi.
She was invited following FANRPAN awarding the Queen Mother the FANRPAN Food Security Policy Leadership Award; with Her Majesty's goat project being one of the highlights of her involvement in agriculture. Therefore, INdlovukazi saw the need to enhance the production and commercialization of goats I the country. She was also invited as an expert in the field, as Dr. Sibanda's PhD study explored the topic - Studies on the productivity and nutrition of the Matebele goat. Indeed there are similarities between the Matebele goats she studied and the Swazi goats kept by rural Swazi households. Also, the semi-arid environments within which the two breed breeds strive are similar.
