Angolan prime minister, António Paulo Kassoma, Sunday in Luanda, discussed with the visiting Chinese minister of Commerce, Chen Deminz, the coming to Angola of technicians to help revive agriculture in the country.

This was announced to the press by the Chinese minister at the end of an audience granted to him by the prime minister, as part of a two-day visit to Angola he started Saturday.

According to him, China has responded positively to the request from the prime minister for the development of agriculture in Angola, adding that programmes are being worked out for the start of the operation in four provinces of Angola, two of which are southern Huíla and northern Uíge.

Deminz Chen said the meeting also served for an appraisal of the existing bilateral, economic and trade cooperation, he considered as "very positive".

He stressed that last year, the volume of trade between the two countries stood at USD 25.3 billion, highlighting the Angolan exports estimated at USD 22.3 billion, making of Angola the biggest partner of China in Africa.

The discussions included the preparations for the fourth China/Africa ministers conference, scheduled for May in Cairo, Egypt, and the Macau Forum, whose date is still to be announced.

He said he also received Angolan prime minister's assurances of support for the holding of the two events.

The Chinese official also met separately with the Angolan ministers of Commerce, Fatima Valente, and Finance, Severim de Morais.
