FANRPAN hosted its Regional Stakeholders Policy Dialogue from the 2nd to the 5th of September 2008, at the Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The theme for this year's dialogue was "Regional Strategies for Addressing the Global Food Crisis".
The main purpose of the regional dialogue was to create an evidence-based awareness among stakeholders on policies that help the region become food secure.
Participants included: Permanent Secretaries of Ministries of Agriculture of FANRPAN member countries, representatives of regional organisations, including SADC and COMESA, FANRPAN Board and Secretariat members, funding partners and representatives form country nodes who include, farmer organisations, agri-business, development partner agencies, media and parliamentarians.
