Description

This workshop is organised by FAO, UNCTAD (under itís Consultative Task Force on Environmental Requirements and Market Access for Developing Countries), and the Kenyan National Task Force on Horticulture as part of their on-going activities on appropriate good agricultural practices to foster national food safety and quality, sustainable natural resource management, fair working conditions and facilitate market access.

Objectives:

  • Facilitate exchange of experiences on challenges and opportunities of GAP and strategic options for East and Southern African countries, with particular attention to viable approaches and supportive policies for small-scale producers.


  • Draw lessons to prepare recommendations and guidance for implementation at national level.


  • Identify potential areas of cooperation on GAP at regional level.


  • Discuss follow-up activities and coordination needs by donors and other actors.
